President’s Message November, 2017

Thank you to those of you who attended Construct in Providence, R.I. We had good representation at the event and at our Regional Caucus. At the Caucus I shared with our Chapter representatives our plans for the Fall Regional Planning Conference in October, 2017 in Frisco Texas. These plans included, continuing educational opportunities in Leadership development for each of our Chapter Leaders. I also informed those in attendance that CSI National continues to be three months behind in sending Chapters their dues and they are still having problems with their website and providing us with accurate Chapter membership information. At that meeting, I informed attendees of my intent to develop a Strategic Plan for the Region. I also engaged the CSI National CEO, Mark Dorsey regarding the delay in dues remissions and website issues.

Also, at the Construct Conference, I attended the first Regional President’s meeting and will facilitate a bi-monthly conference call with Regional Presidents.

Our Fall Planning Conference on October 19-21, 2017 was generally well attended.  Educational opportunities on Leader development were well attended and much appreciated.

Russ Long, our President Elect, has led the planning for our Spring Conference, also to be held in Frisco, Texas on April 4-7, 2018. Save the date information is on our website.

I have asked Debra Wafford- Powers and Barbara Larson to plan educational activities to address the Chapter request for Chapter Officer training.

I have requested and have 12-15 Regional members express their willingness to participate in developing a Region Strategic Plan to be approved at our Spring Conference in April.

I will be facilitating a Regional President’s conference call, either the week of November 27, 2017 or December 4, 2017. I will keep you posted

I hope that each of you and your families had a great Thanksgiving and a Happy Holiday Season.

As opportunities for collaboration and Chapter assistance arise, please let me know, and we at the Region will attempt to assist.

I may be contacted at or 210-872-6743.

    Yours in CSI service,
